why is it that some people consider death as a beautiful and natural thing, but then others have a fear of it? yes I know mostly its because they dont want to end their life, but once your gone, how can you miss anything.. you'd be dead. I just dont understand.
First of all I do not think there is life after death. Taking what we know from science most probably there is no substance called soul or whatever that carries your identity after death. So fear of what after life is or hell does not count with me.
Personally I think it depends on what kind of life relative to death. For example it wouldn't be fun to die so young never to have fallen in love, kiss, have sex, go to concerts, watch movies, have friends, have children and watch them grow, travel places and other adventures. Yeah I'd be worried for someone facing death in a situation like that.
Now if you are old and have lived your life I think it better you be able to let go and be able to face death maybe not be completely unafraid of it but atleast be able to accept and face it.
Of course this is too simplified. There are some things I do not really want to take the time to go into details to. I'll raise two questions here though. Is it still possible that dying young and inexperienced might be good if life would have in stored for that person too much pain and not very good experiences? Would you like someone you have cared about to die in the middle of an unresolved argument/issue you've had with that person?
We all yearn to live. No one wants to die. It is an inborn desire to want to thrive and survive without end. The way our bodies function, automatically repairing and renewing itself attests to the fact that humans were meant to live for a very long time. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says that God has put eternity into the hearts of men. The reason we fear death is because it is not natural. The Bible says that death is an enemy, not a friend. This is why we fear it. You can read that at 1 Corinthians 15:26.
While death can be a very scary thing, many people find hope in the Bible's promise of a time when death will be no more and when all righteous people will be able to live forever. If you'd like to know more about this, feel free to funmail me. :]
hi, I really dont know why but your questions keep popping up and seem to be the most interesting. regarding your question some people fear death because of their teachings, if they belong to a religion they are told about death and how its going to happen. like in my religion, I understand quite a lot about death, but I dont think you want to hear it all. lol. so... but I do think its interesting, and that one person has to question themselves " so what happens after death?" because obviously we are not going to lie there till the world ends!!! hope that helps bye.
I don't believe in heaven or hell, and I don't fear just being in nothingness, as sexiibabe3313 suggests. How can I be anywhere if I no longer exist? So I don't exactly fear death so much as greatly prefer the continuation of my own existence. I enjoy existing and would like to continue to do so as long as possible.
Well right now I do have subtle fear of death, simply because I don't want to die alone. I would die happy simply knowing that I have loved someone to my fullest potential and that they feel the same way for me. If I ever do find that person then I won't have any reason to fear it anymore.
I believe in reincarnation. I don't fear death, I'll be back on the earth again as someone else. Weather it be a few years or a few decades, maybe even centuries after I die. Unless, Oh gosh! I learn everything in supposed to in this lifetime and don't need another one!
Some people have different perspectives on life. Those that dont believe in heaven and hell think its scary to just be in nothingness. And some just dont care. Those that do believe in heaven and hell are afraid that god will damn their souls to hell.
people are afraid of what will happen after death like christians always fear going to hell and burning and some are actually happy about death knowing pain will go away
I'm necessarily afraid of death per se, I'm just afraid of how I'm going to die, like if it's going to hurt, or if I'll feel anything. but after it all, I'm not afraid (:
I'm non-religious. I don't fear death. More amused by the concepts of it. I figure it will be either good, or nothing. So why fear it?
I think people fear what they don't know. People fear death because no one knows what REALLY happens.
Fear of death is normal and natural. There's no reason to pretend we're not afraid of it.
Life is all you have ever known.To even grasp the concept is hard for most people.
The survival instinct, and fear of death, are the result of human evolution.
