Why do people act like their better because of their color

okay people in my school only hang out with the people of their color.
and it makes me mad because I hang with every one.
this girl same came up to me and was like.

me; becuse she is my friend!

me; thats really dumb come now we are in the 2000s not the 1900th,
people dont care any more.

and I keep talking to the girl I was talking to,
but why dose it matter I dont see white black people I see the people I like and it dont matter about color to me,

so why do people still act like this?

I cant tell you why people act like this because im not really sure
but I think they are ignorant and there is a lot of people that act like that.

wow...I think its because people are comfortable with what they are used to. If those people in your school hang out with people of their own colour, it is because when they leave school and go to their comfort zone, they find people that have the same colour skin as them. People like to assocciate with thiings that belong to or relate to their comfot zone, which happens to be what they are used to as well, as I said before. To the person experiencing this, it seems like a positive thing, but really, it is negative in that the progression of those who are positive will burn a few people who will not change. You will find some people like yourself and myself who allow ourselves to get out of that mindset, and adapt to a more positive one.

I also noticed this pattern. It usually starts around the fifth or six grade. Before that when you are little you play with everyone. But suddenly when kids get to middle school you start noticing they are hanging out with their own color more.

Its the society we live in where the colour of your skin determines the kind of person you are...Some people will never change,it doesnt matter what time we are living in or who the president is,the colour of a person's skin will always be an issue,I commend you for handling that situation so well, we are humans first but then comes the colours of our skin...Some people just need to wake up and smell the coffee!!!
