EMO is a kind of music.
In the late 90s,and early 00's,it was a big hit.
Now a days,Society has labled those who listen to Emo Music as Emo People.
Most people associate emos with cutting, heavy eyeliner, dark clothing, and hating life.
But if you ask me,emo is another label, which the world could certainly do without
:]
The word emo represents a broad category of people...well, it's really a genre. They are reputed to cut their wrists, be unhappy, have their hair in a diagonal line across the forehead, etc. There's a big difference between emos and goths, so try not to get them confused. Goths (no offense, emos) seem more sophisticated to me. Think of Voltaire and Amy Lee. Sophisticated, talented people. Goths. Emos have a tendency to be angry, dark, rebellious and the like. I feel sorry for these people, 'because I'm a happy person! (I'm also a Christian.)
emo can refer to a couple of different things. it can be...
a) a type of music
b) a type of personality
c) a type of clothing/appearance
but it depends on what generation of emo you're talking about. the older emo music is different from the newer emo music. I don't know if there is an older emo personality, and the older emo clothing is like, old sweaters and black rimmed glasses and stuff. the new emo clothing style is more like...black. black jeans, black band shirts, black hair, etc.
emo shouldn't refer to a type of person. types of people are like, caucasian, african-american, stuff like that. emo is just a label for one of the above three things.
and like underwaterophelia said, (I'm paraphrasing here) not all emos cut, and not all cutters are emo.
the end.
It doesn't matter how you dress. It doesn't matter how you look. All that matters is how you FEEL. If you are emotional and sad. If you are a dreamer and wish for things that give you a heart ache when you think of them because you don't think it is possible for you to get. THAT is emo. THAT is what we're about. NOT dressing black. It is not what we display ourselves as because that can always be a mask, covering up ouselves.
Emo is a genre of music. Yet some dum ass3s one day decided to make a clique out of it and label themselves. 'Emo' are basically people with sad lives. They get stuck and hung over it then decide to be 'rebellious' and stick out by harming themselves. They like to dress in stripes, black, white, and red. And they stay depressed, always. In my opinion, they are overly dramatic sadists. Aka, LOSERS.
ps.- Go ahead and argue, I've been itching for a fight. What exactly do Emo's have to gain? Tell me one reasonable excuse.
