Simple: your answers are contained in the Bible - just do a little research / read it - then, up to you, you'll either accept or reject...your free choice - God doesn't force you to believe - He knocks on the door of your heart...up to you to let Him in or not...but He'll only knock and be rejected so many times.
As far as I know, the first (earliest recorded) writings about any 'god' aren't the dead sea scrolls, but come from the far east...so, if you think that the older, the better
Then it's one of the Indian, Chinese or other eastern cultures you should be looking at...or the Greek / Roman, as those pre-date the bible as well.
Given the oldest copy of the 'new testament' is less than 1300 years old...and we dont' have any copies older than that...it's safe to say that while the dead sea scrolls can vouch for the Torah being ~2 thousand years BCE...the bible, we can't say for certain existed as it does today until 8-900 CE, more or less.

oh boy here we go again, please forgive me as this is a question being asked since time immemorial, the thing is to keep on asking, that way we get nearer the truth, only the Bible tells us that God our Father made us in His own image, so if we believe in God , he is our Father not our Mother. Did God create us or did man create god?, well we created God if we also created every planet and every life form known to man. We as a race only began asking this question since we began to consider ourselves an intelligent form of life, but I think we've got a long way to go before we consider ourselves the most superior in the universe, keep asking though, I think its what we were meant to do in order to evolve.
Franklyn.
There is a distinction between god and God.
A god can be described like: a superhuman being or spirit worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity.
It can have any gender and is evidently a product of human imagination.
God (with a capital G) is the English name for the god JHWH; a deity form the Judeo/Christian cultures. His gender is male, but in early christian doctrine, JHWH's form as the semi-deity Jesus was often both male and female. This hermaphroditic appearance related to the preceding Roman religious dogmas.
In modern times, Jesus is exclusively male.
I believe God is omnipotent (all powerfull), omniscient (all knowing), benevolent(all loving). as for who created him ? the onthologoical theory proclaimed by thomas aqunas stated that God must excist, noone is greater than God, therefore God is the greates and just is
hope I helped and thanks, surpose this is revision for my exam lol
...God must excist, noone is greater than God, therefore God is the greates and just is...
Thomas Aquinas made several claims like that. Unfortunately, they do not hold water. Thomas was a poor philosopher (if at all).
The subjectivity of his opening phrase, God must exist... , undermines all progress of thought; there is no need to complete the pondering; is has been said...
Aquinas style is typical for his time
As John 4:24 states, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” Since God is a spiritual being, God does not possess physical human characteristics. However, sometimes figurative language used in Scripture assigns human characteristics to God in order to make it possible for man to understand God. This assignment of human characteristics to describe God is called “anthropomorphism.” Anthropomorphism is simply a means for God (a spiritual being) to communicate truth about His nature to mankind, a physical being. Since man is a physical being, man is limited in his understanding of those things beyond the physical realm, and anthropomorphism in Scripture helps man to understand who God is. Some of the difficulty comes in examining the fact that man is created in God’s image. Genesis 1:26-27 says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His [own] image, in the image of God created he Him; male and female created He them.”
Hi Amblessed,
Anthropomorphism is not a means for God to communicate truth.
Anthropomorphism describes the ability of us humans to project human characteristics to a deity as well as, for example, animals or objects.
It is an innate capacity that actually derives attention from reality (truth) and can be closely linked to wishful thinking.
We apply anthropomorphism for instance when we hurt a toe on a stone and blame the stone.
