Believers ... "the holy spirit"

Royal Coronation 1967 Asked by etyhvh 5 months ago, 7 answers.

Dear believers (whatever your faith); I'm curious to learn if you too have had Holy Spirit experiences and how they have manifested in real time. For instance I can be praying for someone that I haven't seen or heard from in years and my phone will ring....

It will be them. When I pray before going to sleep, I can have dreams that become Deja Vue when the event comes to pass. It's all very exciting really and I would be inspired to hear of your experiences. Please don't tell me that you speak in tongues. The languages the people heard spoken were genuine tongues familiar to the one who heard- not a bunch of gobble-de-gook. I mean you know when the Holy Spirit is at work. How have you truly known when you are having a touch from G-d
or receiving one of the gifts from below?
Gifts of the Spirit - The Definitions
There is some controversy as to the precise nature of each of the gifts of the Spirit, but here is a list of spiritual gifts and their basic definitions.

* The gift of wisdom seems to be the ability to make decisions and give guidance that is according to God's will.
* The gift of knowledge is the ability to have an in-depth understanding of a spiritual issue or situation.
* The gift of faith is being able to trust God and encourage others to trust God, no matter the circumstances.
* The gift of healing is the miraculous ability to use God's healing power to restore a person who is sick, injured, or suffering.
* The gift of miracles is being able to perform signs and wonders that give authenticity to God's Word and the Gospel message.
* The gift of prophecy is being able to proclaim a message from God.
* The gift of discerning spirits is the ability to determine whether or not a message, person, or event is truly from God.
* The gift of tongues is the ability to speak in a foreign language that you do not have knowledge of, in order to communicate with someone who speaks that language.
* The gift of interpreting tongues is the ability to translate the tongues speaking and communicate it back to others in your own language.
* The gift of administration is being able to keep things organized and in accordance with God's principles.
* The gift of helps is always having the desire and ability to help others, to do whatever it takes to get a task accomplished.
I promise, I'm not preaching any particular religion I believe gifts of the Spirit in some ways come to everybody who asks. This just happens to be my favorite pass time learning from others about G-d What have you experienced?

Wouldn't you think that G-d would want everyone to have these gifts...
-Yes I do believe that G-d would want everyone to have these gifts but clearly I am not the material that would do G-d any justice with these gifts. I have a problem with pride, so G-d will place me in a position of humilty which gives me compassion. I can not justify some of the actions of G-d, there are some points in life where I need to recognize that no matter how wrong it seems to me, it is right to G-d. Fortunatly he also gives me understanding through repentance. Sometimes we dont need to understand why it is wrong, just understand that it is wrong.

It is not G-d that condemns the world, but the world itself that has cut itself from G-d. Lets say a very popular band was going to perform a free show. There are only two simple rules to get in. One, you have to say the band is a great band, and two you have to call ahead to make reservations. But people showed up without reservations and they didn't like the band. Is it the band's fault they had no room for them, or they only wanted a concert for friends?

As etyh was saying we all have our gifts, granted I can't raise the dead, or heal the sick. But with there are some things that I can do, and with G-d there are some things that I can do well.

I think you've missed the point of tongues, but I've been healed twice before and whilst praying for someone in tongues demons have come out of them, which was quite scary but really exciting at the same time

I've experience a miraculous insight...

...that, those Christians who claim I'm going to hell in fact are going happy

The flushed feeling of euphoria is really something when you finally realize that religious nut balls have a screw loose is unreal.

And, no, I'm not referring to Christians: I'm referring to anybody who goes overboard as the simple FACT is that the ONLY reason most people believe as they do is because their ancestors, at some point, were slaughtered by those with the faith they now hold dear.

Once you accept that embrace it...well, it's amazing.

I have yet to have a personal intervention on G-ds behalf that goes beyond all laws of natural order. But does not give me any less faith.

The Greek word most frequently used for spiritual gifts is charismata, a word that relates to the grace (charis) of God. Concerning these gifts, Paul writes, But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Eph. 4:7 NET Bible). Another word, pneumatikos, means spiritualities, or spiritual things. William McRae defines a spiritual gift as a divine endowment of a special ability for service upon a member of the body of Christ. C. Peter Wagner offers a similar definition: A spiritual gift is a special attribute given by the Holy Spirit to every member of the Body of Christ according to God's grace for use within the context of the Body.

Here are twelve principles that relate to God's design for spiritual gifts:

1. Every Christian has one or more spiritual gifts.

To each person the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the benefit of all (1 Cor. 12:7).

It is one and the same Spirit, distributing as he decides to each person, who produces all these

things (1 Cor. 12:11).

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Eph. 4:7).

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of the varied grace

of God. (1 Pet. 4:10).

Spiritual gifts are not limited to a sub-group of believers; they are distributed by the Spirit to all men, women, and children who believe, more so when they ask.
