Planned parenthood offices also offer them.
The results usually take up to a week, but it kin of all depends on whish tests your taking.
Usually when they take a test, they do it through urine, but sometimes they do blood,or smears.
The standard HIV test looks for antibodies in a person's blood. When you are infected with HIV, you body will start making antibodies to fight it. Antibodies are the body's response to an infection. So if a person has antibodies to HIV in their blood, it means they have been infected with HIV.
Most people develop detectable HIV antibodies within 6 to 12 weeks of infection. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months. It is exceedingly unlikely that someone would take longer than 6 months to develop antibodies.
They also make at home tests. They are fairly accurate but probably not the best idea to use. a lot of people attempt suicide when they find they are HIV positive. If you get tested at a clinic they can recommend counslers and stuff like that.
Depending on which method of testing you used, you can get results anywhere between a few minutes to a few weeks
