When will the world end?

when will the sun die out and when will the world end will it end will we die please tell me !!!

Who knows? As evalynn said, the sun will eventually make Earth uninhabitable, but we humans won't be around to see it. Even if we do survive that long, by then what will pass for human will be unrecognizable to us.

I'd also like to second emmalism's statement about 2012. The Mayan calendar measured different lengths of time (kind of like our days, weeks, months, years, centuries, etc.) and the longest of these, the Long Count, takes about 5,125 years to roll over (like our year 2000). Even according to Mayan beliefs, this isn't the first time the calendar has rolled over. The real kicker is that we aren't exactly sure when their calendar aligns with ours, so it's very possible the roll over has already happened.

Long story short, you don't have to fear 2012 anymore than you needed to fear 2000. You should fear it less, actually. None of our computers rely on the Mayan Long Count.

I don't know, I just hope it's quick and painless...and I get enough time to get my kids together so I can hug them till it's done

No one knows when the world's going to end...I just hope if something does happen we won't even know what hit us. I believe the end of the earth will be when the sun dies out. This will not happen for millions of years so we wouldn't have to worry about us or the next several hundred generations to come. Even if the Mayans predicted the end of the earth would be in 2012 I don't believe it one bit...I remember the time when everyone thought all the systems would crash in 2000. But that didn't happen, did it? I'm sure the end of the earth won't happen for a long time, and whatever happens the human population will die within seconds. Unless we die of Global Warming- but this will/would happen gradually as well. (Hopefully we can stop this effect)

It's estimated the sun will not burn out for another few billion, though I doubt that will be the actual cause of the end.
