First of all, all babies are different, some sleep all through the night at an early age others will be waking up several times during the night for years. My two boys as babies were waking up every 2 hours or so every night and I found it easier to have them in bed with me. But getting back to you,how old is your daughter? if she is still very young it is natural for her to wake often for feeds etc. just be patient, as they have less sleeps during the day they should sleep more during the night ( well it didnt work for mine, grr )

Same answer. Every child develops at their own rate. And get ready to ask the same question about everything they do for many years. When should they potty train? When ahould they recognize shapes, colors, or words? It happens. It all happens in their own time.
One idea I would suggest to any new parent is to get involved with some sort of community child/parent center or group. Whatever you have available to you. I was lucky enough to have an organization in my area that would come once a week or so and just give tips, do little assessments on development, answer questions, and such.
(after about 6 months, my little girl was out most of the night)
