How to let her know that I'm interested in her?

Okay so im in grade 10 and there is this girl that I like. I am a bit shy so I dont know what to say when I go to talk to her. When I walk by her in school I see her look at me and smile. Other then hey, what is something that I can say to let her know that I am interested in her?

bring up something you both have in common. If she wears a shirt with a certain band you could bring up that you like that band and then you could talk about other music you both like etc... If the only time you see her is walking by in the hallway it will be kind of difficult to talk to her, try to catch her at lunchtime or in the library.
