Try having them pick out some books, and don't let them start reading until they take off. Or bring a DVD player (portable) and some new releases. Hope It Goes Well!

Coloring boks and puzzles. Small snacks too, juice, fruits, cookies.
also try having them listening to music that's calming, they might sleep a bit.
Keep them busy before they get on the plane and make sure they eat. This willb make tem fall asleep on the plane. Bring pillows! Works for my kids.

I always like to play hand held video games, watch dvds, play board games, read, or do wordsearches.
We packed up an 'activity bag' for each child. They could take one thing out of it at a time. They included all the things others have mentioned, like colouring, a comic book, a snack, a puzzle etc, but also some coloured pipe cleaners and some stickers, so they could make non-messy crafts at some point. Maybe a map or a leaflet about where you're going, if they're old enough.
Good luck and have fun!
last time I went on a plane, I played the games and watched the movies that were on the back of the chairs. If not, read books or play cards
