What should a lip piercing look like while its healing?
ok so I’ve had my lip (lower right) pierced for about a week now…and im using salt water (for the inside) and soap and warm water to clean it (any other suggestions for cleaning it) … on the iniside there is this white scab looking thing, kinda looks like puss a little, its soft and when I clean it most of it stays there (is that normal?) and the outside is pretty normal I think its just a little red and there is a little scab under where the ball is… when I clean it I try to squeeze it just a little to see if any puss comes out but none does (but im also on antibiotics right now) I was just wondering if this is normal and if theres a possibility its infected?
why shouldnt I squeeze it ? like how is it bad for it.. I try not to fiddle with it as much as I can lol
No, that’s just the healing process. You’ll have that for about 6-8 weeks and hopefully it’ll be gone by then. I had mines for about 20 weeks cause’ I kept fiddling with mines. It eventually got infected and I had to take it out. Dont fiddle with your piercing, lol!
You’re lip is fine (: Don’t squeeze it though.
I have snakebites and angel bites, my septum and bridge so I know a little about piercings :) don’t worry about that line of white crap I got it too and dont touch around your piercings too much with unwashed hands. antibiotics will help a lot, but as for the scab it might be dried blood but dont squeeze it’ll make it bleed more and possibly reopen the wound because while your lip is healing, the hole is closing itself around the ring. just keep it clean and use the salt water spray on the inside and outside and it should be fine :)
