What's the best computer?

Ok So I'm wondering whats the best computer out there right now?I'm not talkin bout the goverment classified ones thats not available so please don't put any of that rubbish I mean like the computers that are at our disposal like whats the BEST Windows...

XP Laptop with the longest battery life and biggest/bestest RAM,fastest processor most portable and best everything also one for Vista and I would also like to know whats the BEST Desktop computer one from XP and the other from Vista like the best graphics cards,processor and RAM and harddrive.
And is the newest Touch screen desktop computer cool?Like is it like the best out there right now?
The best iMac computers like the macbook air is it awesome?great or just ok?Also the best iMac desktop computer and if you could answer all of thos questions and list the price of the computers you're mentioning that would be great and really helpful =)

I've had a Dell XPS for abpout 2 years now and its still up to date with the current times! Check out Dell.com (or Dell.co.uk) and look at there XPS range, you can customise it for better preformance.

Beware of those touch screen computers as they dont have a very long shelf life!

My computer

my brothers an engineer at uni and he builds all the comps in my family. you can get an excellent one built, with all the spec and graphcs etc you need for a fraction of the price than an 'off the peg' one...

honestly, my bro can build an AMAZING comp for about £250 - £350...

Well, the questions you've asked have a very broad spectrum of answers. Basically the first thing you need to do is decide what you want to use the computer for. Reason being that the best possible computer for playing games has a much different physical configuration than the best possible computer for, say, video editing.

If you want a computer to work with in an office, then you can purchase a computer off-the-shelf, so-to-speak and it'll be sufficient for what you want to do and in most cases can be upgraded to a certain extent. If you want to build a gamers PC, well, unfortunately, the sky's the limit.

Your best bet would be to try and find a gamers/technical forum in your country and find out if there are any GOOD shops in the area where the employees would listen to what you want and build you something to your requirements, not their monthly cut-backs. This unfortunately isn't that easy, as many computer companies/shops take advantage of people who are less-informed on the technical aspects (so-to-speak).
