Embryonic stem cells create cancer.

Multiple Sclerosis

Embryonic stem cells add cancer.

Blindness
Adult stem cells have restored vision to the legally blind, in some cases...

people were actually able to pass a drivers test.
Embryonic stem cells create a blind man with cancer.

Parkinson’s disease
Adult stem cells have all been proven methods by curing animals.
Embryonic stem cells, cancer to go with the Parkinson‘s disease.

Cancer
Adult stem cells have offered significant progress in animals.
Embryonic stem cells, ironically more cancer.

Heart disease
Adult stem cells have all been proven methods by curing animals.
Embryonic stem cells, more cancer on top of heart disease.

Blood disease
Adult stem cells have all been proven methods by curing animals.
Embryonic stem cells, more cancer on top of blood disease.

Lou Gehrig’s Disease
Adult stem cells have all been proven methods by curing animals.
Embryonic stem cells, more cancer on top of Lou Gehrig‘s Disease.

Anyone else noticing a pattern?

In 2007 technology has actually created stem cells that are identical to embryonic stem cells from skin samples. It was used to create mature nerve cells. One of the founding fathers of stem cell research was James Thomson he said “Already these reprogrammed cells have eclipsed the value of those harvested from embryos because of significantly lower cost, ease of production, and genetic identity with the patient. They also bring unique application to medical and pharmaceutical research, because cells cultivated from patients with certain diseases readily become laboratory models for developing and testing therapy.”

So my question, is the reason you support embryonic stem cells just because you want to tick off the religious people? It seems to me that we just found nothing more then an interesting new way to create cancer. Has his Eruditeness Barak Obama made a mistake?

Religion. The only logical reason not to use it, is population control.

***So my question, is the reason you support embryonic stem cells just because you want to tick off the religious people?***

tseirpeht, do you seriously think that the people behind embryonic stem cell research just decided to do this one day, with the sole purpose of ticking off religious people? Clearly your persecution complex is falling deep into paranoia.

In the field of science, you look at ideas, and try the experiment multiple times, tweaking variables here and there. Every now and again, you tweak a variable which makes a huge difference and bam! You have a cure for 'xyz'. But I don't think scientists are going to give up until they tweak every variable possible- why give up on something when you haven't been able to test all your options? That sounds like a silly idea, when you could potentially be inches away from an answer.

At least there are people out there who are willing to test things to find possible cures. Last I checked, scientists were having a lot better results in the feild of medicine than religious people praying for miracles.

***Has his Eruditeness Barak Obama made a mistake?***

According to that book you base your life on, man is merely human, and does make mistakes. Surely being the good religious man you are and all that, you of all people can forgive? Because let's face it, I'm annoyed he implied he was in support of gay marriage and went back on it, but I can find it in my heart to forgive him- me, an athiest, a 'God'less person! Imagine! So, what's your excuse?

tseirpeht, care to provide the source for all of these claims?

As lex-icon stated already, scientists will try every avenue available to them. The real question is not whether adult stem cells are more promising than embryonic stem cells (which I would need to see some evidence before I believe it). The question is why would you make the decision not to study both? The only reason given for not pursuing embryonic stem cell research is religious. And religion has no place in science.

Other soruces is just from googleing stem cell research. Harvard was also a big contributer.

The link doesn't work. But I found it anyway. It says nothing about all the claims you made. It is a story about an israeli boy being treated in msocow with stem cells in 2001. He later developed a benign tumor. The highly experimental treatment was roundly criticized due to a lack of proper research into it.

Embryonic stem cells have more promise because they can become any cell in the body. Adult stem cells are limited in what they can become.

So where is the source for these claims?
Are you trying to say research should stop simply because they haven't been successful yet? Or is it because of your religious beliefs?

I don't get it... what actually MOTIVATES you (and amblessed, for that matter) to regularly post deceptive information? Do you LIE in the name of Jesus? Or are you totally oblivious, and just post it without verification, because it happens to agree with your opinions?

when it comes to tseirpeht I find any of his scientific claims to be dubious...
The studies he quotes are questionable at best...
He just needs to learn to leave scientific reasoning to the scientists...some things are just too complicated for him to understand.
I looked some of his articles and found exactly what jimahl found...

tseirpeht, whether we know how to use Google or not, it's irrelevant in the case of you not knowing what you're on about. It's okay though- it's never too late to establish a relationship with science, logic and reasoning.

There is nothing wrong with adult stem cell research---its just embryonic stem cells are better at the job.
As Jimahl has said..embryonic stem cells can grow to become *every* type of cell, where as adult cells are *limited* in what they can become.

When you can become **ANYTHING** why fix something that isn't broken. I've never read any of those things you mentioned and I read *plenty* of med journals as well as my nursing journals. {•happy

I did, and I found nothing that matches the claims you gave. The only thing I found was the story of the israeli boy.

So where did you get this info from? Why won't you give us your source? Afraid it might not be very credible?
