What is this "scene" stuff?

“Scene names” “Scene clothes” What the hell are you all talking about? Is this the new emo? What’s going on?

And since WHEN did EMO become POPULAR?! In my day if you were emo you got beat for looking feminine. (and I’m hardly old). Am I alone on this one?

Answer #1

Emo died. The emos must’ve killed themselves and spawned some kind of new generation of bulls/hit.

Answer #2

Wow. Welcome to HELL! So where does this “scene” title originate from? Like Emo is from emotional…scene is from…?

Answer #3

scene is nothing more than an attention seeking style most scene kids are extremely vain, and follow what they think scene is, like sheep and no, its not the new “emo” emo and scene and both stereotypes but they are completely different unfortuanlty majority of kids still don’t know what emo even means it has nothing to do with depression or self harm, ect but sadly, most silly kids slapped the emo label on themself because they think thats what its all about and whenever they have a problem (like there mum grounded them, they cant go out, ect) they over react and start getting depressed and cut over it emo has been around for a bit over 20 years now and back then none of the cut emo is short for emotional yes but it has NOTHING to do with being emotional or anything because EVERYONE has emotions and the scene style was stolen from the glam metal look

Answer #4

yeah emo people are very popular in my school I just like the haircut I dont like cutting I would never do that EVR so yah scene is the new thing for Emo and they do get popular and they make fun of the nonpopular or NOT emo poeple like me

Answer #5

Scene is just a kind of fashion really :/ I don’t have a clue myself as to what ‘scene names’ are? Because it’s just a style.

If you just type in ‘scene styles’ on google images you’ll see what it’s like :)

Answer #6

I agree with ‘chuchlovely’ … BTW musicgirl ‘emo kids’ don’t necessarliy cut themselves..idunno what it is with everyone always saying you have to cut to be emo.. ‘EMO’ is a style! Its also short for emotional. AND SCENE IS A STYLE.! And nothing else! If you don’t like it get over it..

Answer #7

personally, I think scene is when preppy type people stumbled into hot topic, liked some of the stuff in there, and made emo into a “cute” sort of thing. scene can be associated with bright hair colors and makeup sort of thing. I think its basically like a emo/prep genre I guess =/ hell if anyone REALLY understands it

Answer #8

So. The other “Krystal” who stole my name. Where does the scene title originate from? It has no beginning, and no meaning? I highly doubt that. More likely that you don’t know and instead of saying that or leaving answering to the people that do, you like to answer and say there is no answer.

Like I asked about scene to be told to “get over it”. Man.
