It is a quote of Mark Twain's. Mark Twain was a very dry humorist and great at such 1 liners. He was making fun of the educational system and the realities of the world.

Wow rainonme!! That's some heavy weight your carrying.

This qoute refers to K-12 schooling and higher education. The purpose of K-12 is socialization into creating law abiding, U.S. loving citizens. K-12 teaches you what the government wants you to know, and excludes what the government does not want you to know. For instance they teach you that, WASPS came to U.S. and rescued the Indians from their barbaric religion and taught them Christianity (highlighting what according to them is positive). However, they don't teach you that American Indians were rounded up sent to Oklahoma, used for cheap labor, and created laws that took their land away. They did a lot of horrific things under the guise of a moral crusade. This is just one example of what is not taught to you in K-12 schooling. Once at a University for instance, take sociology, psychology, diversity studies, criminal justice etc... (any social science) and you will learn exactly what that quote means. Once you have an eduation of these subjects, you will understand why white people are always on top, why there is hunger in the world, why there is hate toward illegal immigrants, why there is so much pollution, why a whole lot of sh*t they will never teach K-12 students. Honestly, learning of this has been an eye opener and I am less ignorant because of it, and you will to. So the schooling is k-12 which will never interfere with education (attained at a University or College)
