How can I get my parents to treat me like an adult?

My mom and dad are way up tight. I go to talk to them, and I get yelled at and then I get an attitude and we get nothing accomplished! I try to talk to them and when ever I bring something up and they don't know what to say, or I have a valid arguement I get the 'because I said so' answer. It's getting really irritating, and as I get older I want them to realize that I want to be treated more like an adult. also whenever they run out of things to say they say well if you keep going with this then you will never get it and I will take this away too. How can I make them listen to me a little more and see my side of things everyonce in a while?

You must, repeat, must be civil..they are people / adults (meaning they have more experience) / parents (remember, 'honor your father and mother'..you can't demand respect - you have to earn it..poor attitude gets you no-where..calm down / be civil / discuss the issue like an adult..I wish you the best !!

hey there I no what you are going through and it sucks!! I have the same problem and it can be so iratable and it always seem to end in the arguament and the parents being right!! the best thing to do that I find is jsut to agree with your parents and after a while they will get no arguament back they will soon I hope give up, admitadly it dosent always work ,but if you dont bite back and just bite you lip then it may halp a little. parents thinking that there right is a part of growing up I guess , they dont always no whats is best , yeah sometimes they do but not all the time, umm theres nothing you can do to stop your parents doing this but just try and act calm ok and dont get your self stressed out over it ok!! and if you want them to see you side of things speak to them calmly , adn speak to them as if asking them to listen not telling them to , or do waht I do and when I no I gota convince them that I need something or something liek that ..I help out a bit round the house and be extra nice and then ask them , it sometimes works!!
