What are some ways to convince my parents to let me start dating?
There is a girl I really like and want to ask out but my mom says that I am “too young to date” but I am a freshman in high school and at least a dozen of my friends are in a relationship or have had a relationship before but this isn’t enough for my mom.
A freshmen in america makes you 14? Parents never listen if you compare yourself to your friends. Does she know there’s a girl you like? If not try telling her and say I want to make her feel special. Say you’re friends with her and you want to go shopping or to the cinema together. Also bring one of your friends and one of her friends with you and say to your mum this is what you’re doing so it’s more casual. If she still says no becuase you’re too young say that if you have feelings and don’t act on them you can lose your chance to ever do what you want and tell people how you feel which is an important part of social development. Tell your mum you’re only going to be dating this one girl and you want to see how it goes and you’ll let her meet her so she can see you’re good for eachother.
