How do i convince my parents to let me date?

I am a panjabi girl and most people in my religion dont date, instead they have arranged marriges. But I dont agree with that and I want to go out. The problem is how do I convince my very strict mom?( I couldn't care less about what my stepdad says)....

I am a shy person and can't just go up to her and ask. Please provide some advice...

I know that you are shy but if you really want to convince your mom to let you date you have to be brave and put your shyness behind and just ask her. asking her is the only way to tell her how you feel about dating and that you dont want an arranged marriage.

Well if you cannot talk to you mom then how are you going to convince her? That makes no sense what so ever. You HAVE TO TALK TO HER about this for her to be able to understand. More than likely she will shoot you down and continue so unless you bring up some sort of ultimatum on your point. If it is what you believe then you have to stand up to all adversity for it.
