I am trying to consider whether or not to file for bankrupcy and I want to know what the laws are like after the changes that were made in the last few years. I live in California so I know the laws are probably not in my favor. Any clue as to what to expect and what is limited with bankrupcy?

Honestly it depends on the size of the debt that you have grown on top of how long you have had it as well as who you owe it to. You have to be a little more specific to get a decent answer.

You aren't completely absolved of most debts now with a claim of bankrupcy. So in other words you should just pay the money back to creditors on your terms until you can give them what they want comfortably.
