A momento of a trip you took together is always a good choice especially if you both like talking about the trip. Also, if you have a pic of her and her fiance' that she hasn't seen in a while, have it blown up and professionally framed (or go to Hobby Lobby for a nice frame).

Have you got an assortment of photographs of yourselves together?? buy a multi photo frame or make up a photo album.

I'm going to a wedding in 1 month, and bought the bride and groom a statue of two cranes from Coldwater Creek. The cranes are revered by the Chinese as symbols of longevity and marital bliss. Both romantic and unique. I would NOT opt for the silver ladel or picture frame.
