I've been a vegetarian for 28 years. I believe it has been good for my health. The main reason I became a vegetarian was for health reasons. I think you can have a healthy diet without being a vegetarian but most people would be better off if they cut back on meat, fowl, fish, eggs, and dairy and ate more whole grains, vegetables, and fruit.
being a vegetarian is very hard work.
Vegetarians are dedicated to a cause, not just to loose weight.
To become healthier you start eating healthy food.
IF you are wanting to become a vegetarian to not eat animals then yeah I'd say go that way.
Vegetarians make up for their protein that comes from meat by eating other things. like peanuts or drinking protein drinks.
Eating red meats every night is not healthy. Switch between chicken and fish.
Replace potato chips with carrot sticks.
A candy bar with an apple.
And exercise is always a way to get yourself healthy.
BEST OF LUCK.
I'm glad you are making the switch
You won't regret it!
I'm a vegetarian, and over the period of 3 weeks.. I've lost 8 lbs...and I've gotten motivated to run 2 miles every day...

you could eat quite healthy just by cutting down your meat intake. being vegetarian is a lot of work, not eating too much meat is relatively easy for most people. filletofspam pretty much covered it, actually. good luck.
succumbing to vegetable abuse is life-threatening and soul destroying. eating 2lbs of nearly raw steak (the way I like it) is what makes us human. we are at the top of the food chain... for 2 million years our ancestors have hunted and eaten meat. its very unhealthy and dissatifying to say 'no' when someone offers you a joint of slow-cooked lamb.
Vegetarian: to be or not to be?
Id like to be healthier so can you guys give me your views on how to be healthier and whether you think vegetarian is the best way or not? thanks :-) x
