Hi,
I'm not a religious person, but I think that becoming vegan would just allow God's creatures to live longer and happier lives. No one can argue that!
Good luck.
I'm a vegetarian and catholic and I've commonly heard that argument used when I mention that I'm a vegetarian. I think prkswllflwr is completly right. By not eating the animals it lets them live longer. And there God's creation they deserve it. Just as we do. And by leading a vegan lifestyle your making your life longer. On average vegetarians/vegans live 7-9 years longer then a meat eater. So even after your health problems are fixed I recomend remaining a vegetarian. I don't see this as any insult to God.
According to Genesis, Adam and Eve were vegetarians. God told them that they could eat any seed bearing plant and fruit. Later after the flood when Noah emerged from the Arc God told him that every creature on the earth was his to eat.
Even though I'm not a Christian I find the Biblical diet advice to be sound. Humans are classified as omnivores which means we can eat almost anything. If you look at our physiology we are much closer to herbavores than carnivores. We can eat meat but we can not eat putrid meat without getting ill unlike true carnivores. Our jaw and teeth are more like herbavores. We do have canine teeth but these are not nearly as good for tearing flesh as those on dogs, cats, and other carnivores. We have adapted to being able to eat meat which is a huge help durring famines. When food is scarce being able to eat nutrient dense meat can mean the difference between starvation and survival. When food is plentiful eating meat becomes a liability; we don't need a dense source of calories and nutrients; what most of us need are fewer calories and less fat.
Many vegetarian Christians I know take the commandment not to kill seriously and believe that it applies to other animals as well. Other Christians note that the grain used to feed cattle could be used to feed people. The grain used to produce enough beef to feed one person could feed 10 people. Others note the environmental harm that comes from raising meat. Raising cattle, pork, chickens, etc produces tremendous amounts of polution; large tracts of the rain forrest were razed to make grazing land for cattle. Is eating meat good shepardship of the Earth?
Of course everyone has to decide for themselves.
I personally dont think the vegan life style is healthy. you dont get all your nutrients (and plus meat tastes gooooooood)
but truthfully I dont think God would care. If you become one it was in his will for you to become one and if not then it wasnt. he gave you free will, and you should use your free will
no, I don't think becoming vegan would upset God. I mean I agree with the animals being here to give us things to live off of. but I KNOW that God didn't want them on here inthe FIRST place to eat because when he first put them on here, we weren't eating them.
but I think he did put them on here to give us like mmilk and stuff. but our world has come to a point where we are jsut taking huge advantages of that. and tourturing the animals and killing them if they dont give us exactlly what we want. so I know that God understands whats going on with the whole byproduct thing.
Ok. I don't believe God wanted the animals to be beat and killed like they are either.
There is a big difference .. here they are testing make-up and hair spray on animals..
Man kind has done wrong !! They are in big trouble from GOD!! BIG!! Trouble!!
I think God wants us to be haealty Danial didn't eat meat for 10days ..
I am a new christian in a pentecostal church. and I am not going to stop being a vegan
Being vegan is a wonderful life style..
I am even thinking about being a RAw vegan
So be a vegan .. keep loving God .. Its just a meal with out eat..
God didn't want these animals to be tortured alive and soo on,, Personaly, I am a vegan and I do it because of what happens and goes on to these animals.. I don't care about the weight or anything, I care more about these animals lives..

dont argue that these videos aren't reall and are not in the US. like other people tried to do,, they got proved wrong.
I wish I would have encountered this earlier.
'Would becoming vegan insult God?'
Not at all, in fact it would give great honor to God in that you would refuse to eat a creature that he determined was 'good.'
I am ardently Catholic and I have been a vegetarian for about 7 years now. You will find that you will actually have a deeper connection with God. And you are not alone, St.. Francis, St. Claire, St. benedict and many others have gone before you as vegetarians. I am a vegetarian as a fast against all forms of violence. Make it a spiritual excercise by offering the meat that you would otherwise consume up to God and he will reward you. Not only that, but in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were vegetarians, and not only that, but in heaven not even the lions will eat the lambs- we will be vegetarians then too.
Grace and Peace,

I am a Christian, and I believe it is your choice, whether to eat meat or not, either way, it is ok, with God...
sorry but thats quite a disrespectful thing to acknowledge (to the animals) ' god put animals here for us to care for and eat' thats not their lifes purpose. Its just like saying we were put on earth for animals to eat. why not? thats not right at all. But I guess we are all entitled to our own opinions.
Well, I don't believe that God put animals on the Earth for us to just slice up and eat. I mean, I tihnk that every animal is SO beautiful. Why eat them? I mean, we can survive without meat, so what's the point in killing a poor difenseless animal?
I don't believe at ALL that God put animals on the Earth for us to eat. I think every sinle life should be treasured. Even those of cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and everything else that peope eat.
And when you do think about eating meat, just tihnk that whil eit's in your mouth, you'll be having a dead animal in you rmouth also.
Yes exactly I encounter this from EVERYONE ALL THE TIME!!!
They look down on me, and I 'beg' them
Not to tell me that my mercifull and loving God who does not ejoy seeing His creations, His children, tortured,
gave his creations the ability to feel so that we can hang them upside down, skin them, then feast on our 'kill'.
No, thats not MY God.

I seriously love you guys right now, right on lol
If it did, you do not need that god in your life
Love of veganism
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transfromed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. ~Romans 12:1-8
God encourages us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices. This means that He wants us to live for Him. God looks at the heart and knows your motives. If you become a vegan, do it with all your heart to serve the Lord. It is good to want to have a healthy lifestyle! God can bless those who eat meat by having a healthy lifestyle and God can bless those who are vegan as long as they do these things for the Lord!
I have a friend who is unable to become a vegetarian/vegan because of her severe diabetes. For her, she must eat more meat and less fruits. Her Doctor told her for her, eating carrots is like having a bunch of sugar and he stressed her to not become a vegetarian. However, she can do adkins and she did great on it! For me, I feel that eating a vegetarian lifestyle is what I should do to be more healthy. I want to be able to play with my children. I want to have more energy... and this is what helps 'me' to acomplish that. Everyone is different-whatever their gift, however they eat, let them do it cheerfully and for the glory of the Lord. And the Lord is pleased with that!
Becoming a vegan might be disobedient to God. If you are to be strictly on a vegan diet, then you will either have to sacrifice some nutrients, or live an expensive lifestyl - both against the Godly teaching of not making our lives difficult. You cannot use the argument that all lives are equal. It's hypocritical. Every time you breath, you kill millions of bacteria/germs which are roaming in the air. Does this mean we should stop breathing? Or are the lives of these animals not so precious? Plants have lives too. You cannot use the feelings argument either, because recent research has proved that plans have feelings too. Just do a simple google. The truth is God created us (or if you don't believe in God, then nature made us evolve) in such a way that there is a cycle that maintains the balance in nature.
All the best. Contact me at Fun mail me if you would like to discuss this further.
no it will not insult God.Personally I think that we were supposed to eat only fruits and vegetables and the only time we were allowed to eat meat was when the flood came because there was no other food to eat and animals were all we had. Thats just what I think. I don't think that God would've created something that feels, lives, and has emotions just to be killed and eaten by humans. I became vegan for awhile but I stopped because it was really hard to find the foods that you can eat. I stick w vegetarian. If you become vegan, make sure you get enpugh nutrients that you need, because it could eventually become unhealthy if you dont watch your diet Good luck

Would becoming vegan insult god?
Send me Fun Mail
I'm thinking about becoming a vegan, but I'm Christian too. God put the animals here for us to care for and eat, and I'm afraid if I purposely stop eating them, it is putting God's creations to waste. I don't want to become a vegan for animal rights, I just want to lead a healthier lifestyle by focusing more on fruits and veggies. I may go back after my health improves. So, would becoming a vegan insult God in any way?
