Hey Jax?
I'm charliejack, I seen your question and wanted to take a stab at answering it .
first off you do not need to read the bible , to become a christian, but like anything else.like a manual for working on a car, it tells you about the car the problems and how to fix it. well the bible is about who God is and what is his purpose in our lives, not everyone well become a christian,
I was looking at some of the answers that were given, and there are some people who for some reason doesn't believe in God because you can't see him, well its like the wind you can't see it but you can see it effects.this is a good explanation of that ,you can't see God but you can look around you and see his work, I know that nobody is so mently disturbed to think that all the trees, plants, just about everything around you didn't just happen by chance or an explosion, what it was is there was an explosion God exploded everything into existence.
The best thing to do is not to listen to idiotic advice from people who try to get you to think like they do, because they don't want to be the only ones left behind when the rapture comes, and they are left here wondering why they didn't listen to people who knew more than they did. God gave you your own choice, you could choose him your satin, thats the great thing that God gave us the right to choose. he could have made us a bunch of robots and made us to love him,but he wanted people to love him on their own not forced to.So you go ahead and and make your own choice Jax.
That's one of the fallacious about God. If everyone searches for God shouldn't they all find the same thing? The same message. Then you hear well God speak to each of us in a different way. Well if God did exist I would say that's true. Look at the middle east. Each of thoses religions believe in God and fight over who has the right message from him. Under this reasoning God wants there to be was in the middle east. Sound foolish doesn't it?
So now we come to the bible. The bible was written after the death of christ. Its been added to. Taken from. Mistranslated some times deliberately. Mixed with paganism. Many stories from the bible exist elsewhere before they took place in the bible. Such as noah, moses, and jesus. How can anyone look at the true history of the bible today and put any stock into it?
So the only valid explaination is...
There is no God. He is man made.
Blessed Be
I asked a question that I thought could be answered by mature people. But seeing how you are unable to meet that expectation, I can't rightfuly include you under that category, can I? Others have their opinions, but they are not being rude. Now I suggest you stop or you will be reported. Simple as that.
nobody cares where the bible was written from you werent there to prove it were you? so stop trying to prove it to me now cause I dont want to be prayed for people I dont believe in praying so dont waste any more of your precious time on me you already waste enough of that on church listening to the priest talk about stuff he doesnt even know is true and having you people stand up and sing about random bull.
babygirl, I don't stand for disrespect of anyone's beliefs of values. We all have the right to believe what we want and no one has the right to challenge that. I don't mind being called a snitch. Its ignorant to say that, but it doesnt bother me when at the end of the day, I know I didn't stand for anyone being abused because of their beliefs. So call me what you will.

Validity of god without consistency in believers??
I notice Christians saying that you need to read the bible to know about God. Yet they also say that everyone retains a different message from His word. If that is true, how is it possible that a certain condition, ie. the exsitence of God, can be seen...
as valid when not everyone even has the same understanding of God? And last I heard, God isn't speaking up. Can there be validity without consitency? Even with God? Even when looking in the minds of those who concieve of Him?
