use one of those sponge ball thingies........its a sign of nervousness or anxiety, so just use one of those sponge squeeze things and if you get a flat one, you can also put it in your pocket or on your desk at work and use that whenever you feel like popping your knuckles.....
or go from one bad habit to the next, start biting your nails.....hehe......just kidding on that one

They evaluated outpatients at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital to determine whether habitual knuckle cracking is a risk factor for hand dysfunction. They found no relation with osteoarthritis, but noted that 'knuckle crackers were more likely to have hand swelling and lower grip strength.'
If you want to stop then replace the habit as suggested.
