Tim burton's alice in wonderland will rock!
People may jump out at me when I say this - but Twilight was not the best book-to-movie adaptation ever made. I may be biased in this though, seeing as I never became a huge Twilight fan. When it comes to Harry Potter is by far one of the great...
movie/book transitions ever made - and if you've seen the movie, you can probably testify to its heavenly goodness.
Twilight or Harry Potter, whatever toots your horn) may be in danger of getting replaced in just one year, three months time.
Equation:
1 sick team of Johnny Depp and TIm Burton + a great childhood book = ?
You have Alice In Wonderland.
Yes. I said it. And GOD am I excited for it.
Now I love Johnny Depp, but I LOVE Tim Burton. Venturing back to his Edward Scissorhands days, the director/producer has been seriously amazing.
Burton is taking his sickly imagination (think: the cartoony aspect of Wonka and mix it with the heartbreaking tale of Edward) and putting all his might into the already crazy story of a little girl chasing a white rabbit. With this movie in post-production already, it's surprising that it's not getting more press.
Now where is Depp fitting into all of this, you ask?
He's playing The Mad Hatter (that's him in the picture).
Excited yet?
Do you think you'll go out and see this twisted movie when it hits the screen in May 2010? What other movie-book adaptions did you love (or hate)?
