stop, breathe deeply and say this prayer..Lord help me to accept the things I cannot change, change the things I can and have the wisdom to know the difference.Then give yourself a treat of some kind and consider all your options and do things that will either solve the problem or distract you away from it.
use the Green Dot method.......been using it since college, now in medschool, once you train yourself with it, its works like pavlov's dogs principle, everytime you'll c a green dot you'll get relaxed and focused at the task at hand..........
do this exercise:
make a quarter sized dot with any color of your choice, green works for me. put it where you can see it everyday, now whenever you start losing focus, do the following
sit upright in your chair with both of your feet flat on the ground, and hands on your knees relaxed ofcourse, close your eyes and start breathing deeply, relax yourself and feel each breath giving you energy up/down/left/right, truly try to envision the energy, after breathing like that for 2 mins or so your last stretch should be of trying to take the maximum amount of air out of your lungs, for a couple of breaths, and end with a couple of normal deep breaths, open your eyes and the first thing your eyes should see is the DOT(whichever color you may choose).
from a psychology standpoint this will train you to get relaxed and focused and not only that it will have a pavlovian effect on you as every time you will see the dot, after repeating this for a couple of months, you will automatically get relaxed and focused on the task at hand, basically that DOT is going to be ur EASY BUTTON.....haha......sorry couldn't resist.

These are all great things to do but each person needs to find their own way to handle stress. I deal with Stress by working out, running, shooting hoops doing some kind of activity that gets my heart going. It helps me a ton!!!
If you don't have that option, taking 2 to 5 minutes breathing deep and thinking about all the good in your life, thinking about if 10 years from now you look back will this thing that is stressing you out have really mattered??? These things help me....
Also there is a saying that Iove Don't stress over things you can't controll
