Should I go to the hospital for a stone in my hand?

I fell when I ws younger & have had a black mark underneath my skin on my palm every since. I think it might be a stone or a peice of dirt but in hurts sometimes when I lean or pick things up. I want to go to the hospital about getting it removed but im scared incase they just think its nothing & send me away without doing anything because it is so small.
Do you think I should just go to hospital? Would stone or dirt show on x-ray?

I'm not sure if it will show on an X-Ray...but X-Rays are very expensive anyway. If the stone/dirt is actually hurting you, you should go to a doctor. If you have a general practitioner, he or she may be able to help you and/or get it out. Or a dermatologist (skin doctor).

If it hurts, you should do something about it. Don't worry about it being too small

The doctor's job isn't to tell you if its big enough to worry about. I'm sure if you get medical advice they'll tell you what's wrong and help you to get rid of whatever it is =)

just go to the doctor. If theres anything in your hand at all then it would be practical to go to the doctor

Hi thanks for advice folks.
Went to hospital yesterday told them all about it & got x-ray. Turned out to be a peice of glass which I've had for in there for about 12years now. Hands all stitched up but feeling better.
