Dear kimpippin,
I smoked for 22 years and so did the EX. He quit cold turkey and I chose to use the gum. At that time it was by prescription and not to well known. I used it for 2 weeks (you don't smoke when you use the gum). The key is to stick with a plan. Choose the date you will stop smoking...I do not believe in cutting down slowly I find people who do that return to smoking quickly. You need to be occupied during the times you used to smoke. If you smoke mostly after meals you need to find a replacement. Addictions 101: replace one addiction with another. So look for a healthy substitute. There is a mistaken concept that you have to stop smoking for yourself...well, sometimes a motivation to stop smoking because of a child, or because second hand smoke kills other can be a stronger motivation. The key, keep trying when you stop trying you stop winning.
Sue...good luck
YES PEOPLE DO STOP SMOKING.AND ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHEW LOTS OF GUM BUT NEVER SWALLOW TOO MUCH. AND DRINK STUFF WITH NO SODIUM.AND IF YOU DO IT WOULD ADD LOTS OF SALT TO YOUR INSIDE BETTER NONE AS YOUR ATOMS.
