Should I be charged with assault?

Me and some friends got together, bought some water balloons, and hurled them at the middle schoolers on field day after we got done with our exams at the high school. We had a three man sling shot and were launching them from across the street where my friend resides. A teacher at the school called the police, who were there almost immediately. The stupid cop bastard who first pulled up was smoking a cigarette in his squad car, and he called for another four officers to come out there. So by the end of the day, the cops had came by my home and given me FOUR charges of assault, because we had supposedly hit four people with the water balloons. Two of the people who I was with also got the four charges of assault. So thats a total of 12 charges being pressed, for throwing water balloons at some kids on their next to last day of school. My court date is in one week and I will probably write how it went. So, tell me what you think.

Its a water balloon??!! No, it's not assult. Sadly, it seems like everyone these days has gotten so *** ... AHH! When I was in school, if you got into a fight, you had to sit by a pole or at the most get Saturday school. Guess what? there wasn't all these school shootings and kids carrying guns... now you can't even throw a water balloon at someone.. come on! Sadly though, to answer your question... you'll probably be charged unless the families decide to drop it... good luck!

Yeah, if you hit them then you should be charged with assault. Thats what happens when you do those types of things on someone else's property. If someone hit me with a water balloon expectingly I'd be so mad, you got to watch what your doing. Take your fun else where, where others aren't getting hit with anything.

if I remember correctly... Assault actually is verbal abuse and verbal only... you SHOULDVE been charged with battery.

You didnt verbally threaten anyone so its not assault

First of all, don't call the cop that. You could have ruined some important possesions to them. Really, you should think before you act!

Everyones said it - Think before you act!! Dont worry it could be worse and your record will clear within a few months if you dont have any more convictions, I used to have a record of everything, nothing to be proud of but I went through a bad time and had everything from GBH, ABH, assult, Im on a years probationary period now so if I dont get convicted within this year my record is clear. Just think next time yepp?? Nothing will come of it in Court becuase it will only go to Youth Court / Magistrates.

Your attitude shows your contempt for others. You show no remorse and believe me THAT is what will get you convicted and get you into further trouble.
