Shoplifted a year ago, can i return to the same mall safely?

I used to go thru a phase of shoplifting untill I got caught once. then I never returned to the mall again in fear that I will be caught for past shoplufing that I did. its been almost a year now and im completley clean from shoplifting and would...

like to return back to the mall, do you guys think its safe to go back? and can I get caught shoplifing bc of the past times even if im not in the act?

They can't do anything unless you've been caught in the act. After a year, chances are pretty high that even the security tapes are collecting dust and nobody remembers you anymore.

lol I have been through those phases at my local shop, its terribly addictive I gladly dont do it anymore and I have not ever been caught but my friend has and she goes back again and again I doubt they would recognize you after a year, people shoplift all the time sadly and they get caught all the time , shops are a hell of a lot bigger in america than england so I wouldnt worry, hope this helps

Lol I got caught once shoplifting but they let it go. Lol I'm sure for over a year they don't even care. The mall I was in was like, oh we're bannign you from all other Virgin Megastores. BS, but uh I'd say it's safe to return.

if you changed the barcodes on an item to get the item cheaper and paid for it but with the cheaper barcode is that shoplifitng?
also can you be charged for previous shoplifting if you were not caught doing it that time.

Answer to your barcode question yea it is shoplifting. And for the previous shoplifting no you can't once you leave the property with the item not can be done to you they can say they caught you on tape but still can't do anything unless you leave the store with the item and get caught.

About a month ago I was seen shoplifting, followed by a security guard but managed to escape because he had the police waiting at the wrong exit.
Can they do anything because they didn't catch me with the objects.

By the way I've learned my lesson and am not going to steal again, but the shop I want to go in has something I REALLY want.

Wouldnt they have security things that beep when an unpriced item is scanned?
