Severe pain when Pooping.

Alright this happens almost every month. I normally poop every other day. I am a 16 year old female if that matters.

Sometimes though I’ll get this crippling pain in my gut when I have to poop. I get an aching/stabbing pain in my anus hole. The pain in my stomach and anus last for about 3 to 5 or 10 minutes!! I start getting really hot like I have the flu and I start sweating. I’ll also start blacking out and usually lay my head on the counter which is next to the toilet so I don’t pass out. I feel like I’m going to vomit and my ears start ringing really loud.

I take a cold towl and press it to my stomach to help distract myself from the pain. With the painful anal hole I’m not able to even push the poop out it hurts so bad. Sometimes I’ll have to lay on the floor so I don’t black out completely. Or I’ll fill up the bath tub with cool water and sit in it so get some relief from the pain. After however long it takes for the aching/stabbing pain to fade out from my anus I am able to poop a normal poop. Although sometimes I’ve had diarreah afterwards.

Why am I getting this pain in my anus where it practically makes me unable to walk?? I am not sexually active if that matters. What could be causing my pain and how can I prevent it from happening?

I have been having severe pains in my belly starting at upper left under breast then moving down to lower left about where my ovaries are then when it gets to a couple inches under my belly button I can’t take the pain anymore I start sweating horribly I get light headed lips go numb and arms and legs. The sharp pain has made me pass out. The pain below belly button is there until I have had a bowel movement which usually takes about 45 min. to an hour.. Does anyone know what this might be? Have had colonoscopy <<< can’t spell… and said it was IBS but it feels more than that to me… Please help..

For all you having this problem, my twin sister and I have the exact same thing to. And for the dr. to not be able to explain the passing out part is stupid because that is your bodies defense mechanism way to cope with the pain. If it can’t take it it will make you pass out. We were told we have very sharp corners in our intistine (whether this is the true case, I don’t know), and when it travels around that corner and is hard or not proper stoul from a good diet it can tear or struggle to get around. I started eating very healthy with lots of fruits and veggies and fiber and hardly struggle anymore. When it comes out it should be in the form of an S shape. I recently broke my arm and was put on pain meds which make me constipated, and instantly the pain is back from the change (and not eating cause I havn’t been hungry). But once I get back on track the pain should go away. When It is there I to come very close to passing out. So try to change your diet and eat a very balaced one.

I have the same problem and no dr seems to care about it I cry and grab on to everything around me when I poop. its embarassing and makes going out places a difficulty because im always afraid ill have to poop. My boyfriend by now probably thinks im crazy because when I have to go I sweat and cry and yell at him to hurry up and take me home before I pass out and then im in the bathroom for about 15 mins struggling to go and not make noise. im not constipated it just hurts so bad. My dr told me that I had a small fissure and a hemmorage and IBS but he sd there is nothing they can do but give me antidepresants??? I dont understand why that would fix the problem so I just didnt get the prescription filled. Another dr told me that that is what dr tell you when they dont know what it really is. Now I dont have health ins so I cant get a second opinion, can anyone help me???

I too have this problem. I am 24 and was told it may be celiacs diesese. But the dr could not explain the passing out or hot and cold spells. It causes me to not want to eat for fear of the aftermath of a good meal. Wish I knew what was wrong. They said a colonoscopy might find the problem but I don’t have health insurance so I can’t afford the test

I am 26 and I have been experiencing the same EXACT feelings that you have described since I was probably 12 or so. Have you been able to find out anything? I am trying to find out what is going on with me?!

Answer #6

GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! I had a similar problem. are you eating a balanced diet? when I joined the army I had a balanced diet every day and when I got home I started eating fast food as most americans do. I suffered from an anal fissure which is a tiny tear in the lining of the anus. its a serious problem since “pooping” is a healthy way of detoxifing your body. im going to med school, so please. go see a doctor for your safety.

I have the exact same problem now, really struggling. Did you find out what it was? If so what should I do?

I saw on a dr/s show that if you almost pass out when you poo, it’s because of the pressure your putting on a vein. Helpful hint, get a foot stool and put your feet on it when you have a B.M. It opens the colon up more and makes it easier to go.

About 2-3 times a year, I have a B.M. and you’d think I was dying. My stomach cramps across my front and around my bowels. It’s like PMS, but worse. Enough I actually scream in pain. This last time, I had the same symptoms, only worse than ever, and I noticed a knot that formed on my lower right side, (if you drew a line from my belly button to my hip bone, it’s about 1/2 way between) I went to the dr.s the day before this happened and he said he didn’t feel anything abnormal. (Right! I sure felt it and so did my roommate!) Anyway, he never said anything more about it, other than I had 3 ovarian fibroid cysts. He acted like those were no big deal either. Anyway, as I was saying, all of this happened the very next day. I took Pamrin, some Tums, some Rolaids, and nothing seemed to help. I pooped, finally, and it was like really hard, then something watery and hard came out, that felt like I passed a flat rock or something, and then it was the squirts. During all this, I was clammy, then cold, and felt nauseated, but never threw up, and my legs and body were shaking uncontrollably. After it was over, I still had the cramping and was back on the commode probably 3-4 more times. The next day, the cramping returned and I had gas something fierce! I finally went out and got Zantec, and laid on my left side. Within 30 minutes, all symptoms were gone, but I haven’t been able to poo for 2 days now. Anybody know what the heck is going on?
