It could even be arthritis. This wouldn't hurt to try, as going to a specialist might cost you a lot of money, but how about going on a Glucosamine/Fish Oil supplement for a month or so and see if it makes a difference? If your knee is still in bad shape after that, you can go and see the specialist.
However, this is just my opinion, and you should go to the specialist if you feel that it needs to be looked at immediately.

Serious knee pain?
My knee has been killing me for the past two months. It usually hurts when I am sitting/lying down but the pain will occur occasionally when I'm walking as well. When it starts to flare up I have to hold in my screams it hurts so bad. I had an X-Ray and...
they claimed Nothing is Wrong, but I know SOMETHING is wrong. Could the doctors have missed something when looking over the Films, or may I need an MRI? I'm worried about possibly having Osteosarcoma because I have all of the symptoms. Should I go back to the Bone Specialist?
