How can I raise my self-esteem?

Thunder Robot Asked by funadvice 12 months ago, 12 answers.

How can I raise my self esteem and confidence? At the moment I go with the attitude 'I tried I failed, so I will fail a million times at it.' I'm fed up with it. It's the reason why I am no good at anything. Also, what category should this be in?

Send this to a friend

hey,
I completely understand where you are coming from ,I am the same way, I dont find myself attractive or creative enough. I dont see myself as smart or ever good enough. I need help in this category as well whoever can help out message me 2

For instance math classes I take at school, I literally fail each year I take a diff math class, I've been tutored, I've gotten help from the actual teacher, I have wrote down what the teacher says then study over it later, I have tried it all. Most people complain like this when they get a b or c, but I always fail...?
maybe you could get a myspace and put some pics of yourself up there abd see what peple say, or talk with some of your friends,
if you need to talk to me

I'm very good at maths and science, but that's about the only thing I am better at than people my own age.

Edison failed a thousand times before getting it right and he never considered himself a failure. I'm not a great success in life, I'm not a great employee but I got good self esteem. . . It's all about self respect. . . Learn to respect yourself and live to learn. . . . when in high school I was a C student Now I'm learning to make boots, just finished getting a certification in Computer science and I'm in my 40's Rarely held a job for a year. I have clinical depression but I'm rarely depressed cause I have self respect and I've learned to notice the little blessings. . . Like hearing a child laughing. . . Hearing is a blessing. . . . most of all I learned life is not about me but others. Don't count your miserys.
Now I'm overweight My hair is thinning I have false teeth and I have limited grammer skills and I have Adult Attention deficet disorder. Life is not a bowl of cherrys it's been an up hill battle. . .

Learn to treat life with a little fun spirited self sarcasm. . . usually when the esteem is low you are way to hard on your self. . . that's why I say FUN SPIRITED. . . . And remember when you fail that millionth time. . . Don't give up sit back and dream a little let your imagination go with it and you may figure out how to make it work on the one million and first try then again maybe not. . . keep on keeping on. . .
Sorry I got to rolling their. . . . Hope some of it helps.

Rnealw is right. I mean look at what Edison accomplished . Avoid the negatives. Even the most successful & so called perfect individuals have it lol! Noone is left ALONE. People always have an image to stand up for. They love to protect it & don't let it fool you. Most people have low self esteem but hide it with raising their heads up & acting like they don't care. Find out what you're good at. Such as tagging, drawing, art, painting, skate boarding, break dancing, being crazy lol & etc. Not everyone is going to have your combination of talent(s).

I try something, I fail. I try one more time, I fail again. So I give up and walk away. I have done this all my life, everything new I have tried, I fail so I give up. I try to think of famous quotes, Such as 'If you think you can, or you think you can't, you are probably right' or 'Anybody who has never made a mistake hgas never tried anything new.' Nothing happens. If I continue like this, I'll be some unemployed tramp who washes in lakes and sleeps in a bus shelter.

when I was 12 , my self - esteem was trashed , everyone was making fun of me and I had no friends , and then my mom had me take martial arts because the flyer said it raises disipline , self - esteem , and confidence , and it's REALLY helped me , I suggest you take it
