Scene/ emo hair

ok, so I have the cut for it, my hair is perfect.. I got layers, EVERYTHING
I just wanna know if it will look better if I tease hair under my layers.. or just tease my layers directly??

from you picture, I would say do the top layers (not the direct top, but like the second top layer...if that makes sense)... unless you want to have more a subtle look, then I would tease the under layers.

When you tease you hair take a large chunk and a fine tooth comb and backcomb the underneath section of each layer until you get the volume that you want. The more hair you tease obviously the bigger it will be. Focus more on the back sections and don't go overboard on the side as you will have a 'mushroom' head.
