Sad/fake it/ or just sit there while he's being removed?

so my dad is a real true jerk! He makes fun of my weight when I’m average, he’s hit me before, he yells for every little thing! My brothers hate him too and my oldest brother used to fight my dad when he would try to hurt me when I was little. But now I’m older and I defend my self. Obviously I don’t stand a chance against him. So my dad lost his license about 20 years ago and a month ago he was pulled over. He is going to jail on november 14th. I’m so happy cause there will be no yelling at my house and my other brother won’t get choked. I have to go to court and watch the whole thing. Should I fake some tears, just keep quiet, or should I actually be sad?

it’s nothing that effects my emotions at school. I just hate him. I love my family besides him. I’m a very happy perky person. If you were to look at me you could never tell I was upset

However you handle the court, PLEASE PLEASE seek counselling for the abuse. It is going to affect you for the rest of your life if you don’t. You will chose men who are not good for you, and your life will be chaotic. Hopefully your Dad will get some help too, but you can only control your life.

I agree with Jezzelin. Don’t fake anything. And If you hate him you should find comfort when he tastes the guilt of his tyranny. It sounds like he has yet to experience such a thing.

You could look him in the eyes flatly and shake your head a little bit (almost not enough to notice) as he is sentenced. Although I think it’s a bit manipulative to plan how you’re going to react to an anticipated event.

Also, heed bimjob’s advice and seek counseling if you have emotional trouble. There are people who can show you how to cleanse the corruption he may have left in your mind.
