Reason for needing food stamps

If you have ever been on food stamps, what was the main reason (for instance, loss of job, divorce, disability, DUI, etc)

I am on food stamps the reason is because I do not make enough from my job alone to help support my child

My mom use to be on food stamps actually when me and my bro were younger because she was a single mom and didnt make enough money to support us..

That's the most common reason for them, a single mom who's having a hard time...my mom always says she's gonna get them, but she says a lot of stuff..

the income you make a month will determine if you get food stamps or not.

We don't have food stamps here, but from what I understand it allows people to purchase junk food...not a good use of government assistance, in my opinion.

We have food banks where they give out already purchased food of nutritional value - no junk food.

that depends on the person though everyone is different.
I use foods stamps for ceral meat chicken fruits vegetables milk all the works.
and other people have food stamps to get energy drinnks and pop chips and candy.
like I said it depends on the person
as long as the government is doing their job (hard to believe now that obama is in office) then the people are happy.
