Question on birth control and period?

:] Asked by mrscobainx3 9 months ago, 4 answers.

I've been on birth control about two months.
I had unprotected sex on sunday, and monday I got my period [as expected]

Have I been taking the birth control long enough for it to become effective?
And if by chance he cummed inside [which I dont think...

he did] and I became pregnant, would I have missed my period that I got monday, or my next one?

I think birth control takes a month to kick in. (I could be wrong). But I think you're good. It's possible that you could have gotten your period, but still be pregnant. If you're in doubt, take a test. =)

I think probably your next period. and your probably not pregnant. 2 months is long enough to make the birth control effective. but theres stilll a small chance that your pregnant. take a prego test when you get the chance.

*have I been taking the birth control long enough for it to become effective?*
I think it depends on the brand, my friends doctor told her 2 weeks and my old doctor cold me 2-3 months till it's completely effective.

*would I have missed my period that I got monday, or my next one?*
If you got your period at the expected time, which you did, there is a low chance you're pregnant. Some women do notice some spotting in early pregnancy but it's not period-like, it usually comes at a different time and there really isn't a 'flow' like when you have a period.

Also:
1) It would have been THIS period
2) It would be rare for you to have ovulated that close to your period unless you have a really whacked cycle which you obviously don't if you knew when to expect your period.

Sounds like you're safe to me. happy

your period still may come even if you are pregnant, because you are taking a medication that makes your body do something at a schedued time. and 2 months may or may not be enough time for the birth control to become effective. your best bet is to take a home pregnancy test
