Public school scared!

ok im really nerveous!!! im going to a public school next year! I will be a junior and my whole life I have been in a private school. what are some tips for a public school that has over a thousand kids and im coming from a school with less than 150! any...

advice would be great thanx!!!

its not that bad. its always scary on the first day. just make sure you have a map of the school. also try to make a friend on the first day to direct you the right way!

well I would imagine that it's pretty much the same... you will have your group of friends. you will go to classes... there will just be more people and probably a few different rules.

You'll start to notice more that you fit in with several groups of people so not all of your friend will be friends with or even know each other.

My high school had 3000 kids. my jr high had 1000. so it's kinda the same transition.

Just be yourself.
Most of the time people in public schools are really excited when the get new people.
You'll most likeley get hovered over and everyone will want to be friends with the new girl.

You'll be fine. Dressing designer like comac said seems to commit you to a certain group. It may not be a group that you want to be a part of. Just be friendly to everyone, and you'll be fine. Just don't become a pushover with the kids that are always asking for a dollar.

Public school is awesome! For starters, you can wear whatever you want. You still have to follow a dress code though. You also can do tons of different activities like color guard, cheerleading, drama, and tons of other things.
