I don't know, but Muhammad saw. can't be displayed as cartoons.
I doubt they are making fun of Muslims per se as much as making a point about radical Islam. Ridicule is an excellent weapon against irrational thought.
Because that's what cartoons are intended to do: make fun of something. Do you know how many cartoons have mocked other religious figures in newspapers and TV shows around the world?
What's ridiculous to me is the response to the Jylland-Posten cartoon, which involved people setting fire to Danish embassies, threatening Danish tourists, and even some ambassadors demanding a meeting with the prime minister. Give me a break. Just because these ambassadors represent countries who ban freedom of speech doesn't mean they should expect Denmark to censor its media for a friggin' cartoon.
By publishing the cartoons the Danes are defending the bedrock principle of free speech. The Muslim world believes that they have the right to enforce their version of life on everyone around them by force. The Danes should be applauded for standing up for their rights. Also, but provoking the Muslims into their unthinking, hate-filled response, the Western world gets a glimpse of what life would be like under Islamist rules.
God is mocked in every way possible in America... I guess its spreading.
...silverwings, I didn't realize you consider Muhammed to be God.
The Muhammed cartoons are a reaction to radical Islam, which has elevated Muhammed from man, to prophet, and now to a demigod who can not be blasphemed.
