I am pro-choice and catholic... I got to a catholic school and I love it but I feel like when I true to own beliefs(like being pro-choice) the whole catholic community puts me down. and I am a republican and there for people tell me that I shouldn't...

I completely agree with you on your choice. Just because you're pro-choice doesn't necessarily mean that you will get an abortion, but it means that people should be free to make their own decisions. A problem with a lot of religious groups / people is that they think that if you dont believe what they do, you are inferior and will go to hell. And while youir decision makes sense, it is against the religion, and they can't see past that. Stay true to your beliefs, but in a community like that, you can expect to be looked down upon or even pitied for what you think. I suggest perhaps picking a different community to voice your opinions, or at least someone who will listen.

Pro lifers are pretty rigid in their my way or the high way attitude, and there's not much you can do about it. You go to a catholic school. The popular opinion is going to be pro-life. Just dont talk about it... As to your choice about being a republican, well that is up to you if you want to belong to a party where the people think they can dictate what you must believe in... People are who they are. Just politely agree to disagree and move on...

Well, I agree with you that abortion should not be illegal, but what you are experiencing is the result of religious thinking. If you are willing to question the idea of abortion, are you willing to question more...like for example, whether Jesus really existed and was god?

yes, most Cathlics disagree with abortion, BUT this isnt about being Catholic or not..this is about being a Christian period and not just a Christian priniple, but a issue on morals and what is what...abortion IS murder...taking an innocent babies life,,,sure , you HAVE the choice to do what you want since this immoral country of ours allows it,but does it change the facts, NO! ...Does it change killing a baby...NOPE!

Nope the definition of murder is:
1. The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice.

Firstly I a fetus isn't considered a human being...if that were the case then it would have all the rights of a human being.
Secondly I don't think that ANYONE that has an abortion does it with PREMEDITATED MALICE...most woman find abortion a traumatic experience and those who do it do it because often they feel or they don't have other choices (I am speaking of the majority here now)

I am using MY brain. What about in the case of rape...or in poor countries where people are uneducated,or what if the mother's life is in danger? Should she then have a child. You are ONLY considering one portion of a much larger issue
