Pressing leafs with an iron

I am trying to press leafs using wax paper and an iron. It works until I try cutting around the leaf then the wax paper comes apart. Am I doing this right. Does anyone knwo how to press leafs?

Are you cutting too close to the leaf? You have to leave an edge of wax paper where it is sealed.
