What do you mean? They are classified as that probably because of how computers hear the music, some songs sound more ‘poppy’ than others so they cannot be just called punk or any other genre
I meant why is it classified as that.
The album “Brand New Eyes” is considered Pop.
If when the album was made it was processed through computers that are programmed to detect different types of music the melody and rhythm of the song must have been similar to other pop songs. I understand where your coming from I would never consider paramore to be pop..
