You could do a toner then pain it but it might be okay to just paint over the light purple.

heey . I recently did my room and it was black and then I went to a spring green . You have to put this stuff on it first before all the new paint . Its called Primer . Paint the walls wth it first then the Mango Color . Hope I helped . Mail me ! I need Friends ! =] .

well if its a light purple it should be okay if your doing a deeper color, but if you don't want to risk it then I would use a base coat over the purple first. the base coat is just a white primier which will make sure the purple doesnt show!

Paint it with a primer first 'Kilz' is a good one, just make sure you have ventilation in the room. Then you will be good to paint the color you want. The Mango will not cover the purple unless you do about 3-4 coats of paint. If you prime first you should only need 1-2 coats.
