Painful vagina

Asked by embraceyourdreams 11 months ago, 3 answers.

Usually when I have sex there is a long foreplay and only really about 15minutes maximum of actual sex. However a few days ago me and my partner had sex for longest time we had ever had - on and off for almost an hour and half. My vagina was extremely...

sore for obvious reasons including we didnt use enough lube.

The next day we had quite sore muscles in the crotchal reigion and upper theighs. I also found in quite uncomfortable to use toilet paper. Today is the third day and while it started out ok towards the end of the day I was in a lot of pain peeing. I'm not sure how to describe it but it spread from my navel to my clit. I also think my urine has been slightly discoloured with an orangey kind of colour and I feel the urge to pee regularly.

Any suggestions to whats up? I know I'm going to need to see a doctor if it persists. So any advice besides that would be good.

It sounds like three things to me, a sore vagina from hard sex and/or a yeast infection, with a possible bladder infection. Yeast infections dont always itch, but it will cause pain wiping with toilet paper or feeling weird down there after sex. And a bladder infection of course will cause pain when you pee. Buy some monistat and if it doesnt go away go see your gyno.

You definitely have a bladder infection! That pain going from clit to naval is the telltale sign. You will need some antibiotics to cure it or it could get worse. But during after the antibiotics, take some probiotics, or least eat a lot of yogurt with LIVE bacteria in it. This will prevent a yeast infection. If you don't you'll just end up with a second problem.

I used to have a lot of these when I was younger--it's sometimes called honeymoon cystitis because it happens after lots of sex. The key to prevention is to ALWAYS urinate right after sex, and drink lots of water to flush out any bacteria that may have gotten into your urethra during sex.
