How long until a piercing is permanent?

How long does an oral piercing need to be in for before the hole is permanent?

Answer #1

just so you know. The tongue is the fastest growing organ in your body. The hole in your tongue will ALWAYS grow back and it will never be permanent. My brother has a 2 gage in his (about the size of a nickel hole) and in about 3-5 days it will need to be repierced again and thats that hes going on 8 years having it pierced.

Um , honestly I don’t know . I wouldnt for very long . I’ve had mine in for over a year now , still wont take it out for more than a hour . What exactly do you have pierced ? Good luck .

Answer #3

That’s the thing. I’ve had it since about late June and I was wondering if I took it out now, if I could get it back in ever? I’m sure after long enough it just creates a permanent hole. What do you think?

Answer #4

8-12 weeks . But I woulnt leave out for long . I had mine in for 3 months took it out for 2 hours and it grew , had to repierce it . THAT SUCKED . Hurt worse than the first time .
