Non-custodial parents rights

Asked by thatjenngirl 4 months ago, 2 answers.

My 17 yr. old daughter wanted to move from Colorado (her Father is custodial parent) down here with me in Georgia (I am the non-custodial parent). Does she have the legal right to do so with out going through the courts and/or a judge??

At 17? I don't think so...she needs to be 18.

I recommend you call a lawyer for advice - they usually give you a free one hour consultation.

I'm pretty sure if the father wants the girl living with him, you'll have to take him to court, but since your daughter is 17, the judge is likely to ask her what she wants, and rule in her favor.
