Do people decide 2 b an emo?

K I have nothing against emo's and no offense or anything ,but I was just wondering why do people decide 2 b an emo??? And what do your parents say bout your decision???

I'm not emo, I'm more grunge, metal kinda person but some people may choose to be emo because they like the clothes or music.
Or because it's what their comfortable with.
Theres loads of reasons.
I think alittle minority do it for attention.
But thats just my opinion.

okay, I'm partially emo (I'm like 90% punk, 5% emo, and 5% goth) so, I think it's just like wanting to be a punk. punks are punks because they're against the structure they've been told to follow, they want to be themselves, etc. emos are emos b/c they are dark people, they've been through a lot, or they just like the clothes/music/style. but I don't know of a lot of emo adults, so, chances are they'll grow out of it, I agree with xxxraynexxx

yah I agree xxxraynexxx is right haha... people say I am emo, but I am not. I am more Scene than anything... I might cut and have problems and be deprsessed and I might look like I am EMO but I am not. it is just steriotypical stuff. and I hate that stuff.

why do people go wmo?
just like theyd go punk, scene, jock, prep, nerd, ect
its a sterotype, a label
another thing thats kids join to find hwlp them find out who they are at that point in time
it helps them find a place they feel like they belong
however
majority of the people who are emo and who know about emo
still have NO idea whatsoever about the mewaning of the word
emo is a style of dress and a genre of music
labels and sterotypeshave nothing to do with feelings
and cutting or feeling depressed has NOTHING to do with being emo
cutting is self harm, and depression is a mental disorder
anyone of every label or not can feel depressed or feel like cutting
because EVERYONE has problems
what bothers me is all the wankers using the word as an insault and saying they cut
and all the kids and teens who say there emo
and dont even know the meaning of the word
labels and sterotypes are usuaally a fad, trend as well
because very rarely to adaults carry the same lable they did as a child
most of them grow up, and grow out of it

im not emo ...a little scean tho and I dont cut my self or crave attencion ..I just got really bored wiht being so plain . and I wanted a change . scean style is so wicked , with there cloured hair and the way they style it . I dont no why people get there backs up a about emo and scean ...I think its the people that cut and pot it for the world to see that ruin it for the rest f the people that just love the style .. I donno thats just my opinion I hate sterio typers. you should be able to dress the way you want and not get riducled for it .not saying you are at all just stating my oinion

EmO isnt a decision... it just happnz o.o how tew xplain...uh... I don't know... seriously its not always a decision ok... some people decide im emo now and then they look toootaly like some wanab emo... bt I mean EmO doesnt mean Blk hair and Cuts al ova your wrists...
