Ok so I just got a new very cute tattoo on my foot on and it been awhile since I have had one but my question is ok it itches very very badd and lastnite I cudnt sleep because it was itching very badly I have been putting ad ointment on it but it...

don't stop it from itching so if you have any safe ways for me to stop the itch that will be great...

When I got my tatoo I was told to be a lot of lotion on it. That might help, I doubt it but its worth a try

your having a histimine reaction! the lotion isnt working so you need to get some hydrocorotisone cream from the grocery store!!! the 1% kind like lanacort or cortaid.. it should take one day and it will start to go away (the itching that is).. if it is really itchy take some benadryl.. your body is reacting to your new tattoo as a foreign object and is attacking it.. benadryl is the same thing you would use if you were itching from say an allergic reaction.. it also will make you sleepy so probably take it at night or whenever you have ability to accidentally fall asleep. you want to keep your tattoo clean so wash it with anti bacterial soap.. dont scratch the tattoo you will damage it. gently rub it with your finger tips under cold to warm water. dab it to try using a clean towel. look at the ingredients of the soap it should water as the first ingredient. if your itching consists get neosporin cream (key word CREAM) ingredients on the cream should not say petroleum.. but beware some people have an allergic reaction to antibiotics, and can go into anaphalactic shock, so use sparingly and only when needed.

also keep your leg elevated when you can. if your going to use lotion make sure that it is water based lotion curel has one fragrance free

BTW I ment to say dab your tattoo when your dry it not TRY it.. also dont run it under the water you want to actually keep it out of the direct stream if showering.. and being that it is on your foot try to keep it out of the water while showering.. just long enough to wash it alone..

Well when I got my tattoo I was allergic to the lotion.
And it made my tattoo on my lower back get red ait type bumps.
It was bad.
And don't itch it!
Its bad for the tattoo.

dont sleep with AD lotion..keep it dry at nite. the itching is just letting you know its healing and when it itches just pat it..dont rub it..slap it lightly a few times. also dont concentrate on the itch..think of something else and it goes away
