My wrist hurts a lot and i don't know why

A few days ago my left wrist started hurting and yesterday I realized that there is a big bump on the top right hand side of it (above a bone in my hand). Only the top half of my wrist hurts and something similar to this happened around last thanksgiving...

for around a week. Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks
