My dog is pregnant,i need help!!

Ok my dog is a minature dochsen or doschun or what ever and she might be pregnant and I need some help, like what am I supposed to do?

She also carries a round one of her stuffed animals and acts like she is nurturing it, is she practicing, how am...

I supposed to pet her and how big do you think she will get? Help!

Ps. She also has bad gas!!!

Just make sure you feed her good.
She will probably get pretty fat. Depends on how many puppies she will have.
You can pet her like you did before she got pregnant. But if you pick her up, just be super careful.
My parents are dog breeders, so I am pretty good about this stuff.

There are a few smart, serious dog people on this site. I'm sure they will chime in on this eventually.

In the future, if you don't want lots of babies who may become orphans (or worse) then you should get your dog fixed. There are places and programs that help you pay for it, if needed. You may consider the same for the puppies.

these are the questions you have to answer first
1. was she in heat ( bleeding from her valva)
2. did she tie with a male dog that was intact ( get stuck with a male dog)

So if she is not spayed and all of the above happened then chances are she will have puppie in 63 days from when she tied, I suggest reading up on Dog Gestation and how to Whelp a litter of puppies.

And you should know how to spell your dog's breed. Dachsund.
Get in touch with your vet.
He can palpate her
Do a dog pregnancy test
do ultra sound
and later on in gestation do x-ray.
you will need a whelping box and money
because she is a small breed she may need a c-section, so save up. they will also need vet care for vaccines, health exam and deworming meds. Good luck

Feed her good food and get her a box to have her puppies in let her start getting use to it so when the time comes she will know where to go. Have you vet check her, she will be pregnant for about 62 days before she gives birth and can be in labor up to 24 hours before the 1st pup is born, after that depending on how many pups she will have they will come every 20 to 60 min untill there all out. My best advice is to have someone who been threw small breed birth or have your vet handel it. Small breeds tend to run in to problems during birth. Just be ready read up on your breed and there problems during birth that should help you be ready for what's ahead.
